The “3rd HAMAIKASAX contest” for young saxophonist will take place in Inazio Bereziartua Music school, Elgoibar the 24th and 25th of February 2024.

The enrollments will close the 31th of December 2023 or once the spots are full.

There will be three categories:
- For saxophonist up to 16 years, born in 2008 included
- 10 competitors in total
- Divided in two phases, eliminatory phase and final phase
- The jury will determine the number of participants that will get to the final round
- In the eliminatory phase, a free musical piece will be performed.
- In the final phase, in addition to the chosen piece for the semifinal, a musical piece composed by Jagoba Asiazaran for the occasion will be performed, that musical piece will be handed once the inscription is completed
A CATEGORY
- For saxophonist up to 14 years, born in 20010 included
- 10 competitors in total.
- Divided in two phases, eliminatory phase and final phase
- The jury will determine the number of participants that will get to the final round
- In the eliminatory phase, a free musical piece will be performed.
- In the final phase, the piece “Dance du sax” (Gilles Martin – Ed.: Billaudot) will be performed.
B CATEGORY
- For saxophonist up to 12 years, born in 2012 included.
- Number of competitors unlimited.
- Only one phase.
- The piece “Kansax-city” (Jérôme Naulais – Ed.: Billaudot) will be performed.
C CATEGORY

The schedule of the performances and the award ceremonies (prize-giving) will be publish once the enrollments are closed.

Any information related with the contest will be given in advanced.

Participants will be allowed to bring their own pianist accompanist. The organization will provide pianist accompanists and the participants will be able to make a 15 minute rehearsal on 23th February, during the afternoon. The participants that will play with the pianists provided by the organization will pay an additional amount of 30€.

Given that the contest has an educational nature, once it is finished, the participants will have the option of speaking with the members of the jury and receiving their impressions and advice.
